The Power of Having the Mind of Christ

I want to be really transparent with all my readers for a minute. Especially with my mamas. Over the pervious week I was battling frustration and inadequacy. Right after I had heard yet another amazing message from church. “Words in agreement” was the message.

So why then was I feeling so frustrated for no apparent reason? Maybe it was because I’m in the process of looking for a better job and the enemy wanted to remind me of my past work history. Or maybe it was simply because he didn’t think I would fight back.

I had everything I needed to get through this. The simple question at that point was “who was I going to listen to?” Was I going to turn my ear to God or continue to let the enemy feed me with negativity? There was a decision to make and this is true in everything that we do.

The Bible tells us in Philippians 2:5 “Let this mind be in you which is also in Christ.” Now you might be thinking: “ok what does all of that actually mean?” Well to have the mind of Christ is to first submit oneself to God, becoming a humble servant of God. Then, in situations like battling frustration or feeling like you’re not good enough you will know exactly how to overcome. You will know your identity in Christ and no circumstance can waver your faith.

Which brings me to the next verse:

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Once you have made a decision you need help to stick to it right? Well this is where daily prayer and connection with God comes in. In order for us to think as God thinks we must engage in constant meditation on Gods word so that we may know when and how to fight the enemy. Prepare yourself.

Be transformed not conformed.

I want to encourage you all today to strive to have the mind of Christ and renew your mind daily. Engage in constant meditation on Gods word. Never forgot your identity in Christ.
