It must produce. It must inspire action. It must manifest itself. It endures trails. It understands temptations. It obeys the word. It controls the tongue. It acts wisely. It produces separation from the world.
It is Faith. Faith without all of these things is nothing.
For the next few days I will be studying the book of James so my blog post will be digging deeper into the subject of faith. The first part begins by talking about faith in trials. James’s intent was to encourage 12 tribes who were being tested in their faith. What a great thing for James to do right? We all need encouragement! He begins by explaining to them that the trials they are facing are meant to build mature endurance (patience) and dependence on God. (1:2&3)
We all have been through trials and will continue to have them so the question becomes: how will you handle it? Will you turn to the right person? Will you be shaken? Will you be contaminated or stay pure?
As for me, I want to grow and learn from my trials. I pray that you all have the same attitude and focus. But how exactly do you do that? By embracing it. By Faith. By not complaining or praying for God to change your situation but by asking for wisdom and guidance to understand your situation. To understand God’s plan for your life. Stand firm in what he has promised you. Don’t waver your faith and remember: Trouble don’t last always! (1:12)
I encourage all of you to stand firm. If you are going through something hold on to the fact that God sees you and He hears you. Your faith is growing!
And always,
Walk by Faith. Move without Fear.
I enjoyed it
