This is Faith: God-Confidence vs. Self-Confidence (dependence on God)

” Instead you ought to say: If the Lord will, we shall live and do this or that.”

~ James 4:15

First, I want to thank all of my readers for your support. I pray you all are blessed by these posts.

Today’s post is about FULL dependence on God. With Faith, we are depending on God to fulfill his promises to each one of us. With faith, we believe that God will make a way for us even if we don’t know how it will be done. With Faith, we know it will be done. This is called God-confidence. Having faith that one will act in an effective way. The state of being certain.

I use my faith every single day. And God only knows how I have gotten so far. Some days are harder and more challenging than others but I have God-confidence because while I may grow weary my God gives me strength. So put your faith to work! Have God-confidence rather than self-confidence!

Self-confidence is having confidence and depending on oneself, ones own power and abilities. But let me tell you something about the ability and power of man…it only goes but so far.

I want to share a little bit of my story with you all. Around March of last year my girls and I moved into our 1st apartment since the divorce. Then about a week or 2 after moving, I lost my job. Application after application. Interview and interview and was opening up for me. So around June of last year, yes a few months after moving in, I had to move out and back into my moms house. Only to have to move out of her place right before my oldest daughter started her first year in elementary school because my mom ended up losing her apartment. Man was I disappointed. My confidence was in my career, in what I had, and in what I had accomplished. I wasn’t fully depending on God and at this time in my life he was requiring me to depend on him. On His will. To have God-Confidence. And I did.

Now I can say God has provided me and my girls with another apartment just 11 months later. You see, God-confidence is much greater than any self-confidence you could ever have. So fully depend on God. Follow his will.

What kind of confidence will you have today?

God-confidence or Self-confidence
