A couple of Sundays ago I heard an amazing and encouraging message at church on submitting to God. So today I want to talk about what it take to align your life up with God’s word.
To align yourself you must first submit to God. To submit to God means to come under him. To yield yourself to his authority and his will for your life. God tells us that “the one who submits to him will prosper in all that he does.” How is that you may ask. It may be scary not knowing the end result of something. You may be someone who likes to “plan ahead” but let me ask you this: Have your plans ever fell through? Well God’s plans never fail. He knows your solution before you even ask for help. He is all-knowing. He writes the script. He knows the way you need to go. Submit to him and you will proper!
After submitting to God you must resist the devil. Turn from the ways of the world. Lay down your idles, your old ways. Build a resistance against whatever the devil tries to throw at you. Fight back with the word of God! His word never fails. (Luke 1:37) Never loses a fight. The devil has no choice but to flee.
Continue to draw near to God and he will draw near to you. To “draw near” means to come closer to. So how can we come closer to God? By spending alone time with him. Making a war (or prayer) closet is a great way to have alone time with God. Staying in his word. Staying seeded in him. Bonding and strengthening your relationship with him are other great ways to come closer to God. He longs for that 1-on-1 closeness with him. He wants our whole hearts.
Have you ever thought about this: The Holy Spirit dwells in us so we need to dwell in God. He gave his son for us. That’s an amazing sacrifice. Not only did he sacrifice his son but he still blesses us daily.
The last thing we must do: cleanse your hands and purify your hearts. To cleanse means to get rid of all impurities. Wash your hands clean from your old ways and don’t turn back. Purify your hearts. To purify means to be free from all impurities. This step reminds me of getting kids ready for church or a special occasion. Once you clean them up(cleanse you hands) and get them all dressed you then tell them to go sit on the couch and don’t get dirty again(purify your hearts). Kind of like a get clean, stay clean concept.
I hope you all have enjoy this series so far. There will be one more post on this subject specifically so stay tuned! 😃 Stay encouraged my beautiful readers and always
